I live in Tennessee, USA. I'm an Atheist. I'm unabashedly girl-crazy; Unashamedly me.

Hey... I'm an atheist in TN too.. I'm kinda shy about it 'cause... you know... the Bible Belt and all.. I grew up around god and religion... I just don't believe it...people always have an bad reaction, and I'm told by my guy friends that it's because "I don't look like an atheist." I'm just a little old southern girl, 5'10'' with blonde pigtails and a cute face (and I think my body could be better, but I'm told I'm a '10' whatever that means)... But anyways... So I'm from Shelbyville and trying to go out into the world and make it. Do you think atheists are accepted in most places outside of small town USA??

and by the way... your pic is really cute...

Thanks for the question…

I know how you feel. I think it’s more accepted than we realize. I think there are a lot of us out there and the internet is making it even easier for us to find each other.

I also think there are a lot of people out there who either don’t ‘really’ believe, or just haven’t really given it much thought one way or the other… or as Daniel Dennett says, they “believe in belief” … or they just think having a belief is a good thing.

Hold strong to who you are…

… and don’t be so Anonymous next time.
